Al Ain's garden city character — date farms, large villa plots and oasis greenery — creates strong pressure from ants, termites and mosquitoes, especially in Al Jimi, Hili and Falaj Hazzaa. Many Al Ain homes are villas where the house takes up a small part of a large plot. Much of the pressure starts outside, in date palms, irrigated beds, the outdoor kitchen, store rooms and staff quarters. A useful visit covers all of these, not only the room where the pest was seen. In farm-side districts such as Al Qattara, Al Foah and Al Yahar, the plan also has to allow for the open land on the other side of the wall.

The dry inland heat pushes insects towards any source of water. In summer they gather around drip lines, AC condensate, water tanks and bathrooms that are rarely used, then spread back outdoors on cooler evenings. Tell us when the garden is watered so outdoor treatment can be timed around it.

Before the visit, unlock outbuildings and store rooms, move stored items away from the walls, and tell us about any pets, poultry or livestock on the property. Call us the same day if pests move from the garden into the main house.
