On the Abu Dhabi coast, dirty glass is rarely just dust. Salt carried on the sea air leaves a hazy film, and on humid mornings water condenses on the outside of air-conditioned windows, turning that film and any dust into streaks and dried mud spots. Towers on Al Reem Island, Al Maryah Island and along the Corniche face the water directly, and the sides facing the sea tend to need the most attention.

At street level, shopfronts in Madinat Zayed and Al Markaziyah collect traffic dust and handprints and are usually cleaned early in the morning, before opening. Villas on Saadiyat Island and in Al Bateen have large sliding doors and glass balustrades near the beach, where salt also settles on frames and door tracks.

For taller buildings, share drawings or photos of the facade and any existing access points, and ask building management to arrange permissions and tell residents about balcony access. Exterior work is usually kept out of the hottest part of the day, and strong wind can move the date. The end of the humid season is a good time for a full clean.
