Post-Construction Cleaning Checklist for UAE Villas and Offices

Post-construction cleaning gets a new or renovated space ready to hand over. It removes paint splatter, cement and plaster spots, grout haze, sticker and adhesive residue, and the fine dust that settles on every surface. Work from the top down, use the right method for each surface so you don't scratch marble or glass, and finish with the AC grilles, because construction dust gets drawn into the system.

What's on a post-construction cleaning checklist?

Top to bottom: • Ceilings, light fittings and AC grilles dusted and wiped • Walls and skirting cleared of dust and paint marks • Windows, frames and sliding tracks cleaned and stickers removed • Doors, handles, switches and sockets wiped • Kitchen and bathroom fittings cleared of cement, silicone smears and protective film • Cupboards and wardrobes cleaned inside • Floors: paint and cement spots lifted, grout haze removed, then a final deep clean

Friends finishes every post-construction job with a final floor clean and a handover inspection.

How do you remove paint and cement from tiles and marble?

Carefully, and with a method matched to the surface. Ceramic and porcelain tiles can take products that would etch marble. Natural stone like marble needs gentler, stone-safe methods, because acidic cleaners and hard scraping leave dull patches and scratches that then need polishing.

Grout haze, the cloudy film left after tiling, needs a dedicated remover. If floors have been dulled or etched during the work, tile and marble polishing can restore the finish once the cleaning is done.

Why does construction dust keep coming back?

Because it's very fine and gets everywhere: inside light fittings, on top of door frames, inside cupboards and into the AC system. If the AC was running during the work, dust settles in the ducts and gets blown back out for weeks. Cleaning surfaces without dealing with the source means you'll be wiping again in a few days.

That's why a proper post-construction clean includes AC grilles. If the system ran during heavy work, consider an AC duct clean as well.

When should I book post-construction cleaning?

Once all trades have finished, including painters, electricians and the final snagging fixes, and before furniture goes in. If work is still going on, the space will just get dusty again. For large villas or offices, a rough clean between trades plus a final clean before handover works well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can dried paint be removed from marble without damage?

Usually, yes, with stone-safe methods and the right pads. If the marble was already etched during the work, polishing can restore the finish.

Do you clean offices and shops after fit-out?

Yes. We clean villas, apartments, offices and shops after construction, fit-out and repainting.

Is post-construction cleaning different from a deep clean?

Yes. A deep clean deals with everyday dirt. Post-construction cleaning also removes paint, cement, plaster, grout haze and adhesive, which need specific products and techniques.
